| The "art" of romance is on view in The 19th Annual Hearts & Flowers Exhibition, held in honor of Valentine's Day from January 21 - February 18, 2006 at The Folk Tree and The Folk Tree Collection. The public is invited to a Valentine's Party at both locations on Saturday, February 4, from 2 - 6 P.M. At The Folk Tree, several local artists show their interpretations of love and its symbols in works of all media that include heart imagery. Small objects, such as decorative hearts and flowers, as well as significant works of art form part of an installation designed for the enjoyment of the romantically inclined. In addition to showcasing the talents of area artists, an array of related Mexican folk art is also on view, including ceramic figures by the Aguilar family and repousse hearts cut from tin. |
