During the 2004 holiday season, The Folk Tree Collection continues its tradition of presenting ORNAMENTS & ADORNMENTS, an exhibition featuring handmade ornaments, jewelry, and unique gift items in various media including glass, wood, ceramics and gourds, found objects and more. This show runs from Saturday, November 20 - Friday, December 31, 2004. A holiday open house is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, from 2 - 6 P.M.

The show's contents complement the rest of The Folk Tree Collection's other offerings of unusual objects from here and abroad. Among these are many Asian inspired pieces, including furnishings, ceramics, jewelry and textiles. Items from Africa and the Americas, such as wood sculpture, baskets, and copper vessels, are also available.

ORNAMENTS & ADORNMENTS XIII features a large selection of unique ornaments by approximately twenty-five artists. Among the holiday embellishments are: bikinis and dresses on hangers made of recycled tin by Carmen Abelleira-White, wood-burned and painted gourd Santas and snowmen by Melissa Brown, painted ceramic chairs by Johanna Hansen, silver and bronze angels by Susan Kushins, angels made from Hawaiian flowers by Luka Lyman, felt animals by Lisa Martinez, stamped tin by Liz Quesada, and embroidered stars by Cindy Rinne. Large holiday angels made of philodendron leaves by Jo Anne Sadler and mixed media angels by Donna Musser are also on view.

Personal adornment in the form of jewelry is another focus of the show. Included is the ethnically inspired beadwork of Brenda Henriques and Ruth Rae, fabricated silver by Diane Nishimoto, pieces designed around vintage buttons by Jody Lyons and Lynda Pyka, and cast gold and silver designs reflecting nature by Donna Stevens. Approximately twelve jewelers are included in this installation.

There are also plentiful handcrafted gift items, including exquisite turned wood tops and scent bottles by Jon Sauer, carved utensils and boxes by fine woodworker William Stranger, lace and mixed media masks by Adrian Ross, glassware by Evan Chambers, Samantha Fuller and Annette Paskiewicz, and ceramics by Beverly Crist and Shirley
Liff-Grieff. The variety of objects on view offers numerous gift opportunities and decorations for the home during this festive season.
