During the 2005 holiday season, The Folk Tree Collection continues its tradition of presenting ORNAMENTS & ADORNMENTS, an exhibition featuring handmade ornaments, jewelry, and unique gift items in various media including glass, wood, ceramics, gourds, found objects and more. This eclectic display highlights work by local artists as well as by artisans from around the world. The show runs from Saturday, November 18 - Friday, December 31, 2006. A holiday open house is scheduled for Saturday,
November 18, from 2 - 6 P.M.

The show's contents complement The Folk Tree Collection's other offerings of unusual objects from here and abroad. Among these are many Asian inspired pieces, including furnishings, ceramics, jewelry, and textiles. Items from Africa and the Americas, such as wood sculpture, baskets, and copper vessels, are also available.

ORNAMENTS & ADORNMENTS XIV features a large selection of unique artist made ornaments. Among the holiday embellishments are: fused dichroic glass trees by Candy Albro; mixed media figures by Patricia Anders; wire palm trees by Sarah Gutierrez; painted ceramic chairs by Johanna Hansen; silver and bronze angels by
Susan Kushins; ceramic dogs and cats by Felicia Nilson; quilted stars by Cindy Rinne. Large mixed media angels made by Donna Musser and wreaths created with millinery
by Lynda Pyka are also on view.

Personal adornment in the form of jewelry is another focus of the show. Included are pieces designed around vintage buttons and bakelite elements by Jody Lyons, Rebecca McNerney's pearl and cast sterling silver work, Lucia Preciado's intricate seed bead and semi-precious stone creations, pendants and earrings by Juan Sigala incorporating faceted precious and semi-precious gemstones, and Dianne Sommelet's designs cast from antiquities.

There are also plentiful handcrafted gift items, including ceramics by Glenda Jordan, cast metal work by Vicki Banks and Tamara Hensick, wood boxes by Terry Dale Hufft, decorative turned wood vessels by Jim Richardson, paper mache animal figures by
Ulla Anobile, collaged journals by Janice Lowry, and ceramic clocks and wall tiles by Graeme Stone and Luis Sanchez. The variety of objects on view offers numerous gift opportunities and decorations for the home during this festive season.
